‘The Code’ replaces the original ‘EcoHomes’ assessment procedure, which was introduced to offer a way of measuring how sustainable a development is, taking into consideration the wider aspects of ‘sustainability’ – so, not only the Carbon Footprint of your building, but also its impact on the health of its occupants, its ecological impact, its water use, etc.

The Code has been adopted by Housing Associations who therefore find themselves at the forefront of sustainable development in the UK, presently achieving Code Levels 3 and 4, where Code Level 6 is ‘Carbon Neutral’.
